Special Collections->The old Bideford College site

Home Go back.

This page will have sources relating to the old Bideford College site. The buildings were demolished in July 2010, and were on the site now occupied by the new sports fields. The Kingsley building is the only building remaining from the original complex. It's in the middle of the sports areas to the east of the new college building. The land on which the Kingsley building now sits had a number of mobile classrooms in the late 90's, which were used for English (possibly among other subjects). At the very north-east corner of the Kingsley building there were some covered steps leading from the south-east doorway of the Abbotsham building (ground floor) to a canteen, which was approximately adjacent to the eastern wall of the Kingsley building. This canteen was (if memory serves me) demolished in the late 90's, possibly 1997 or '98.

There are a number of pictures of the original site, and it's going to take a while to arrange this page. I will add some document scans first.
